Description

A perennial herb (grown as an annual), erected on a thorny stem, high 40 cm to 1.50 mt. It has simple leaves of a beautiful green, about 20 cm long and over, often equipped with spines also beneath. The large and rather showy flowers can be purple or white. The fruits are large berries with thin skin that, depending on variety, can be white, pink, purple and black. The many forms depending on the grape variety of the crop: round, elongated, round oblate, oval, elongated oval-elongated and cylindrical. The flesh is firm, usually white, has some variety in color from yellowish to greenish. Usually produces copious amounts of light brown seeds. The weight of berries varies greatly and can go from 30 gr to a few more than 0.5 kg per fruit.
