The cucumber belongs to the Cucurbitaceae family and is native to the north of Indiaand cultivated since ancient times. It is an annual herb with prostrate and herbaceous stem, opposite leaves palmate, rough; tendrils with which it has yet to support. The flowers, about 3 cm in diameter, are yellow and the fruit is elongated with thick skinand more or less lumpy, green in color while the flesh is white and juicy.
