do the chillie and pepper plants die off at the end of the season or do they grow year after year.thanks.

generally they die off with the arrival of cold.

so we have to start again with new seeds next years.

If you have a nice Chillie plant in a pot I suggest you bring it inside. Put it on a window sill and see what happens. Last year I did this with a Chillie plant and had a few chilles over the winter and spring but this year it really took off and has produced more chilles than any other of the newly set ones. It is still growing and producing flowers and chillies even now. I am going to see if it will keep doing the same over this winter. I wil certianly be bringing in a couple more too. TGhe worst that can happen is it dies. So what if you had thrown it out you would not have it anyway so give it a go and bring it inside.

depending on the climate you have, they can survive (tropical), hibernate(temperate), or die(cold).

If they've lost all the leaves but still green (alive..) they hibernate: don't stop watering until warmer temperature comes.
